Since childhood, my
fascination and admiration for "equus", this magnificent and noble
animal that graced my childhood dreams, helped me to grow in ways
unimaginable and beyond comprehension. Hence, a journey begins with
a silent and invisible bond of understanding and wonder.
Having this noble beast as part of my life has been an
unexplainable partnership of both joy and sorrow. But in the end,
they have always been there as a true and unconditional friend. Oh,
the adventures they have taken me on and continue to do so!
I have dedicated my life to understanding this wise and noble
spirit, continuing to work and communicate with my lifetime
partners; my love is that of a life's passion! We all have the
ability to learn the language of "equus", if we open our hearts and
souls to the endless possibilities they bring into our lives.
My parents are from Europe, my Dad from Germany and my Mom from
Holland. I have lived between Europe, Canada and the United States
and have always been surrounded by horses my entire life, mainly
Lipizzans, Andalusians and Dutch Warmbloods.
My training is primarily from instructors from the
Spanish Riding
School in Vienna, Austria and the Portuguese Riding School.
I have been lucky enough to work with some of the best, such as
Karl Mikolka,
Jeremy Steinberg, Paulette Legault, and
Reiner Klimke
to name a few throughout my life. All of this geared towards the
Classical Methodology; Training by the masters themselves and/or
their apprentices.
I have competed up to the higher levels in Canada and Europe, but I
have always preferred to train over competing and take others
through the various competition levels, if that is their choosing.
I believe in a slow, harmonious, step-by-step training or stages.
Where both horse and rider have to be at the same level of
understanding and commitment to compete successfully and work as a
team, a partnership that brings two opposites together as one. A
harmony that has endless possibilities .... Let the journey begin.
